Subscription terms

Getting to sleep is half of it. The 3am wake is the other half.

Settl is built for the whole night.

  1. A woman asleep on her side under a light quilt, a lamp glowing on the bedside table behind her.

    9:30pm

    Fall asleep

200mg L-theanine, 3,000mg glycine and chamomile settle the head.

  2. A golden retriever asleep on a bed in a dark blue room, well after midnight.

    3am

    Stay asleep

146mg magnesium, 900mg myo-inositol and 1,000mg of sodium hold the back half.

  3. A woman sitting up in bed with both arms stretched above her head, morning sun through the curtains.

    6:30am

    Wake up clear

No melatonin, so there is nothing to clear in the morning.

  • Calmer nights
  • Clearer mornings
  • No melatonin

Why make time for sleep

Good sleep is worth investing in.

Healthier sleep is associated with:

  • 35% Lower cardiovascular disease risk 1

Five healthy sleep factors vs zero or one.

  • 22% Lower depression risk 2

7 to 9 hours of sleep vs outside that range.

  • 49% Lower type 2 diabetes risk 3

Four or five healthy sleep factors vs zero or one.

  • 30% Lower all-cause mortality risk 4

Five low-risk sleep factors vs zero or one, during follow-up.

Research sources + study details

Percentages are calculated from adjusted hazard ratios. Three analyses use overlapping UK Biobank populations. None of these studies tested Settl.

  1. Fan et al. · European Heart Journal, 2020

385,292 adults; five healthy sleep factors compared with zero or one. Cardiovascular disease hazard ratio: 0.65 (95% CI 0.52 to 0.81). Factors included duration, chronotype, trouble falling or staying asleep, snoring and daytime sleepiness.

  2. Zhao et al. · Nature Mental Health, 2023

287,282 adults; 7 to 9 hours of sleep compared with outside that range. Depression hazard ratio: 0.78 (95% CI 0.75 to 0.81). The larger result for a combined healthy lifestyle is not a sleep-only result.

  3. Zhuang et al. · JCEM, 2023

78,659 adults; four or five healthy sleep factors compared with zero or one. Type 2 diabetes hazard ratio: 0.51 (95% CI 0.40 to 0.63), with median follow-up of 8.8 years.

The little details

A few things to know.

How do I take Settl?

Mix one level scoop into cold water and drink about 30 minutes before bed. Follow the directions on your product label.

Does Settl contain melatonin?

Settl is formulated without melatonin.

What flavour is it?

Passionfruit.

How long does one tub last?

One tub contains 30 servings, so 30 nights when used once each night.

What people are saying

Fewer 3am wake-ups, in their words.

“I've had this every night for two weeks. The biggest difference is I'm not waking up at 3am every night anymore. I'm falling asleep so much easier, and waking up feeling so much more refreshed. After two weeks, I'd say Settl is worth trying.”
Ashley Zoe · Two weeks in
  • First night I slept seven hours straight. First time since the baby.

    Lauren, Mosman, NSW

  • No 3am wake. No morning fog.

    Tom, Cronulla, NSW

  • I used to be a great sleeper. Three weeks in, I think I am again.

    Dan, Manly, NSW

WHAT'S IN IT

Everything that gets you to sleep, and keeps you there.

Seven actives, every dose printed on the tub. No proprietary blends, so the amount on the label is the amount in the scoop.

Winding down

Magnesium Glycinate

146 mg

Glycinate, not the cheap oxide.

Learn more

Helps the body let go of the day.

What it is

Magnesium is a mineral your muscles and nerves use every day. Here it is bound to glycine, an amino acid, which is gentler on the stomach than the cheap oxide.

Why it's in Settl

Most labels print the weight of the whole compound. We print 146 mg of elemental magnesium, the part your body actually uses, because that is the number that matters.

Read the research

Schuster and colleagues, 2025, Nature and Science of Sleep (opens in a new tab)

155 adults who said they slept poorly took magnesium glycinate every night for four weeks. Their sleep scores improved more than on placebo.

L-Theanine

200 mg

For the stretch where the body is done and the head is not.

Learn more

Quiets a busy head without knocking you out.

What it is

An amino acid found naturally in tea leaves, here on its own, without the caffeine.

Why it's in Settl

200 mg is the amount used in the bedtime research below, so that is what goes in. It calms rather than sedates.

Read the research

Hidese and colleagues, 2019, Nutrients (opens in a new tab)

Healthy adults took 200 mg before bed for four weeks, the same dose as Settl. Their scores for time to fall asleep and for broken sleep improved against placebo.

Chamomile extract 45:1

50 mg

Concentrated 45 to 1.

Learn more

The bedtime tea herb, in a measured dose.

What it is

Chamomile flowers, dried and concentrated 45 to 1 into a fine powder.

Why it's in Settl

People have drunk chamomile before bed for centuries. A concentrate gives the same amount every night, instead of however long the tea bag sat.

How it compares

50 mg at 45 to 1 starts from about 2.25 g of dried flower, roughly what goes into one or two tea bags.

Read the research

Adib-Hajbaghery and Mousavi, 2017, Complementary Therapies in Medicine (opens in a new tab)

Older adults took chamomile extract every day for four weeks and rated their sleep better than the placebo group.

Staying asleep

Glycine

3,000 mg

Three full grams, not a dusting.

Learn more

Helps you drop off faster and reach deep sleep sooner.

What it is

An amino acid your body makes and uses every day. It is also in everyday protein foods.

Why it's in Settl

Three full grams, the amount tested before bed in the research. Most sleep products use a dusting, if any.

How it compares

Of 13 sleep products checked on the Australian shelf in September 2026, only two had any glycine at all, at 50 mg and 250 mg.

Read the research

Yamadera and colleagues, 2007, Sleep and Biological Rhythms (opens in a new tab)

Adults unhappy with their sleep took 3 g before bed, the same dose as Settl. In the sleep lab they fell asleep faster and reached deep sleep sooner.

Myo-inositol

900 mg

For the 3am wake-up, and most sleep products skip it entirely.

Learn more

Aimed at the 3am wake-up.

What it is

A compound found in fruit, beans and grains. Your body makes some of its own too.

Why it's in Settl

It plays a part in how brain cells pass signals. It is in Settl for the middle of the night, and most sleep products skip it entirely.

How it compares

The one chemist-shelf powder that has it gives 25 mg. Settl gives 900 mg.

Read the research

Mashayekh-Amiri and colleagues, 2022, Journal of Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Medicine (opens in a new tab)

Women taking myo-inositol every day for ten weeks scored better on a standard sleep questionnaire than the placebo group. If you are pregnant, check with your GP before taking Settl.

Potassium

200 mg

Works with the sodium below it.

Learn more

Part of the electrolyte pair that holds you steady through the night.

What it is

An electrolyte mineral and the partner to sodium. It is in bananas, potatoes and leafy greens.

Why it's in Settl

Sodium and potassium work as a pair, so 200 mg sits alongside the sodium in every scoop.

Read the research

Drennan and colleagues, 1991, Sleep (opens in a new tab)

Healthy young men given extra potassium for a week spent less time awake in bed, measured by a wrist tracker.

Waking up

Sodium

1,000 mg

You lose it overnight and wake up parched.

Learn more

An electrolyte layer so eight hours without water does not wake you dried out and needing to get up.

What it is

The main electrolyte you lose in sweat, and the one that helps your body hold on to the water you drink.

Why it's in Settl

1,000 mg is the dose of a strong morning electrolyte sachet, moved to bedtime.

How it compares

Of 12 Australian sleep product pages checked in September 2026, none mentioned sodium or electrolytes.

Read the research

Maughan and Leiper, 1995, European Journal of Applied Physiology (opens in a new tab)

Healthy men rehydrated after exercise with drinks of different sodium strengths. The more sodium in the drink, the more of the water their bodies kept.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Before you decide.

Will I wake up groggy?

No. Settl has no melatonin and is not a sedative.

We left melatonin out on purpose. So many people say it leaves them heavy and foggy the next morning.

Settl helps the head settle instead, so you wind down on your own terms and the morning starts clear.

What about 3am wake-ups?

The 3am wake is half the reason Settl exists. And it does not have to be 3am. Two, four, half four, whenever yours is.

The formula is built around the back half of the night, so you stay under instead of starting your day in the dark.

Glycine and magnesium do the settling. An electrolyte layer sits underneath, so eight hours without water does not wake you dried out.

Is 1,000mg of sodium a lot?

One scoop carries 1,000mg of sodium. That is close to a morning electrolyte sachet.

The NHMRC suggested dietary target for adults is 2,000mg a day. If you already take a sachet in the morning, count both and decide from there.

The full panel is on the tub.

What does it taste like?

Passionfruit. Light, tart and not sickly sweet.

It mixes into cold water in seconds and drinks like a cordial, not a chalk shake.

The flavour is natural, never artificial. Sweetened with thaumatin, from the katemfe fruit. No sugar.

How long until I feel it?

Settl is something you take every night, not a one-night verdict. Most people feel the wind down in the first few nights.

Give it two weeks of nights in a row. Take it 30 minutes before your main sleep, whatever time that is.

Then read your own pattern across the month rather than judging a single night. One tub is 30 nights.

Already take magnesium?

Settl adds 146mg of elemental magnesium a night, as glycinate rather than the cheap oxide. Add that to what is on your other label before you decide.

The difference is what comes with it. A magnesium tablet is one active. Settl is seven: glycine at a full 3,000mg, l-theanine for the head that will not switch off, myo-inositol for the 3am wake, and an electrolyte layer so eight hours without water does not wake you dried out.

If you would rather not double up, run Settl instead of your current magnesium rather than on top of it.

Can I take it with my other supplements?

Yes. Settl sits alongside the usual nightly routine, your protein, your creatine, your magnesium.

Every dose is in the nutrition panel above and printed on the tub. If you are on medication or seeing a health professional, run it past them first.

Settl contains added sodium and potassium. If you manage your blood pressure or kidney function, check with your healthcare professional before adding it to your routine.

How do I know what is actually in it?

Settl is packed in Sydney, in a TGA-licensed GMP facility.

Every dose is printed on the label and there are no proprietary blends, so the amount on the panel is the amount in the scoop.

The full nutrition and allergen panel is in the dropdown above, and the same panel is on the tub.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Skip, pause or cancel anytime from your account. No fees, no lock-in.

You can also pause for as long as you need, or skip any single delivery.

What happens if I stop taking it?

Nothing to taper. Settl is not a sedative and there is no hormone in it, so there is nothing to come off.

Stop whenever you like. Your sleep goes back to whatever it was before you started.

Why does Settl cost more than a cheap sleep powder?

Because the doses are real. Cheap powders hide a pinch of magnesium behind a long label.

Open ours and the panel matches the promise: seven active ingredients, every dose on the label.

On a 2 or 3 tub subscription it works out to $2.97 or $2.80 a night, packed and dispatched the same day from Sydney.
